「マジック・ループ Magic Loop, 2025」

2025年10月9日(木) – 10月26日(日)の期間、Seohee Kim（キム・ソヒ）による個展「マジック・ループ Magic Loop, 2025」を開催いたします。

マジック・ループ Magic Loop (2025) は、キム・ソヒが2022年にソウルで始めた連続的・累積的な協働プロジェクトです。服を作る過程そのものを共有する実験として、参加者が服をつなぎ合わせながら制作します。

未完成の服には短い説明文付きのタグが付けられ、観客は協働者として直接触れることができます。選ばれた服はスペース内の作業台に運ばれ、手縫い、パッチワーク、刺繍、編み物など様々な技法で再びつなぎ合わされます。服を「完成させる」ことではなく、参加者が手を加え、新しい層を重ねることが重要です。次の参加者は前の痕跡を引き継ぎ、さらに別の表情を重ねます。観覧者はその変化の過程を見守ることで、作品の成長を体験できます。

このプロジェクトはすでにソウルと東京で行われています。ソウルで始まった服は東京で新たな手が加わり、現在、第3回の展示としてTata Bookshopに到着し、さらに新しい介入を待っています。展示を重ねるごとに服は時間と痕跡を蓄積し、個体でありながら多様な声が交差する媒介となります。キム・ソヒはファッションを個人の選択と社会的関係が交わる場として捉え、ファッション産業が付与する商品的意味を意図的に排除し、服の変形・摩耗・補修といった過程を受容し、新たな可能性を探求しています。

We are pleased to announce “Magic Loop, 2025” a solo exhibition by Seohee Kim from Thursday October 9 – Sunday October 26, 2025.

Magic Loop (2025) is a continuous and cumulative collaborative project initiated by Seohee Kim in Seoul in 2022. The project experiments with sharing the process of making garments itself, unfolding through a format in which participants collaboratively connect and construct pieces of clothing.

Unfinished garments are displayed with tags containing brief descriptions, and visitors can engage with them as co-creators. Selected garments are taken to workstations within the exhibition space, where they are further developed using techniques such as hand-sewing, patchwork, embroidery, and knitting. The focus is not on “completing” the garments, but on allowing each participant to leave their mark and add new layers. Subsequent participants inherit traces from previous contributions and introduce their own interpretations. Visitors who do not participate can observe this process, witnessing the gradual evolution of the works.

The project has already travelled through Seoul and Tokyo. Garments that began in Seoul were transformed with new contributions in Tokyo, and now, for its third exhibition, the project has arrived at Tata Bookshop, awaiting further engagement. With each iteration, the garments accumulate time and traces, becoming both individual entities and spaces where multiple voices intersect. She approaches fashion as a space where personal choice and social relations intersect, intentionally stripping away the commercial meanings imposed by the fashion industry, while embracing processes such as alteration, wear, and repair, exploring new possibilities for fashion.
