Graduated from the Graduate School of Fine Arts, Kyoto City University of Arts, majoring in sculpture, in 2003. By reconfiguring existing records and circulating images—moving from photography to sculpture and from sculpture to photography—the artist has explored the possibilities of the interplay between forms and institutions, as well as the experiential reception embodied through interventions that break with established forms.
In recent years, in particular, the artist has focused on a comprehensive conception of artworks that redefines the venues for their presentation. She views artworks and books as devices for preserving marginal memories, and her research focuses on re-experiencing them as tangible records. In 2026, she participated in the project “ROJŌ [shared ground] ― am i in your way?” held at the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa, where she was involved in a conservation and restoration project for contemporary art, thereby expanding her activities to address the relationship between the permanence of artworks and institutional frameworks.
